I have just turned off a number of features on the LocomotivesUK blog including:
Buddypress: This feature provided by the Buddypress Plugin included the ability to add social networking capabilities to this WordPress install, including the ability to Add Friends, make microblogging posts similar to a poor man’s version of Twitter/X (or Truth Social or Gettr), and create member groups similar to Yahoo Groups and that other site that replaced it.
I shut that off because no one was using it, and my efforts to use it to post news articles seemed to have issues displaying them correctly in the sidebar.
Asgaros Forum: I turned off the original messageboard on here provided by the Asgaros Forum plugin for WordPress because no one seemed to be using it, and for the brief period it did get used most of it was spam for writing services for people too f***ing lazy to write their University coursework stuff themselves.
You should still be able to comment below the blog articles and on certain pages where I’ve turned on the commenting feature.
Also don’t forget the LocomotivesUK Facebook Page + Facebook Group.
Apparently there’s also a LocomotivesUK list on Groups.io that I’d forgotten about.
